British anti-aircraft guns

Anti-aircraft defences developed quickly during the war and mobile units like this one could move quickly to defend specific positions. ‘Archie’ (as anti-aircraft fire was known by the British – from a popular music hall song of the time, Archibald, certainly not) was a constant threat to pilots over the Western Front.
